Why I made Life Beyond Screens

Welcome to the blog!

I started 2019 off with an ambitious idea. I wanted to provide people with the resources needed for overcoming technology addiction. The community and recovery guide were made with this in mind. I made it a goal to launch the site by 2020 and I can proudly say it happened with 4 hours left to spare.

So... why do this?

When I was in high school I spend almost 8 hours a day playing competitive games, watching porn, and binging YouTube videos. I ended up coming out with a 1.8 GPA, no social skills, and absolutely no sense of direction for my life. After introspection, I realized that I was wasting away towards an unsustainable future. I couldn't wife the girl I jerked off to and I had better chances of winning the lottery than making a career out of gaming. I simulated life achievement instead of truly having it. I decided to take action to stop living my façade life behind a glowing rectangle.

After overcoming my demons I had the realization that millions of other people have this problem, will have this problem, or may not even know they have a problem in the first place. Taking control of my life is an amazing experience and I want others to have the ability to experience that I want people to know what it is like to conquer their demons and overcome not only their addiction but life itself.

Thanks for reading the first blog post, that makes you cool.
